Author's Commentary: Im not gonna lie, now that i look back at them, my old comics were really fast paced, what do you mean the introduction was just 3 panels? and the joke on the fourth panel was so out of left field, it just cuts the scene so abruptly??
Anyhow, for this page i really like the idea of a "contestant introduction slideshow" i dunno it's just fun making them, my favorite character for this page is Eduard P. Ainter, he's reporpused from another project in which he was just a minor antagonist with no personality, idfk why he looks so disheveled in this drawing though, he's just supposed to look tired but he looks traumatized lmao. Pretty sure his middle name was "Penelope" in this instance.
The other ones Veronica and Gray Ace are hit or miss, Veronica i remember was made especifically for this comic, though i don't remember quite what i was going to do for her personality. Ace on the other hand was adapted from a series of 4 or so comic strips where he was the protagonist, he was a blind monster guy whose whole thing was being so stupid that reality bent around him for stupid shit to happen. In this comic he was adapted to be a bully-ish monster character that was still stupid but just got into shenanigans often im pretty sure.
Author's Commentary: Maximilan, Noose, Claire and Valk were all made for the comic, with Maximilian being my favorite one of this page, i remember i had planned that in the first contest Ace scares Max so bad that he just turns into a statue and was supposed to be used as a battering ram near the end of the story, i forgot what they would use them on but eh.
I think Valk deserves an explanation considering i didn't find the pages they appeared on and as such just look like the edgiest motherfucker in existance. I think their whole thing would be that they are so stubborn the staff couldn't even get information to put on their slide? Not sure. What im sure though is that they would pull a gun in the first contest to get an advantage but would get their ass kicked anyway.
To this day i still love Noose's design but i don't think she even appeared a single time in the pages i drew (consider the fact i drew like 6-8 pages) and Claire just exists idfk
Lighting Round with the other guys: White Acer was supposed to be the protag for his own comic, i don't remember what it was though; Chris was a secondary character that would follow the main group in a Isekai-ish (not really) story, i remember he was heavily inspired by Flowey from Undertale, especially the way he would emerge from the ground. Caroline was an adaptation from a self insert of mine that fought with a stop sign, her's is sentient tough. I remember her hair clip thingy was a reference to Bocchi the Rock with the colored squares, you can't see that cuz they don't appear in this drawing and even if they did they would be black and white.
